Density Measurements of Cross Flow/Side-Jet Interaction Field by Computed Tomography (CT) Reconstruction using Colored-Grid Background Oriented Schlieren (CGBOS) Technique

Density measurements of the unsteady cross flow/side-jet interaction field by Computed Tomography (CT) measurements using Colored-Grid Background Oriented Schlieren (CGBOS) were carried out in a supersonic wind tunnel at Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency/Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (JAXA/ISAS). The Mach number of the free stream in the wind tunnel was set to 2.0 and 3.0, and its of the side-jet which was injected from the side of the cone-cylindrical experimental model was set to 1.0. The compressed air was employed for both supersonic flow and the side-jet. A high-speed camera and valve unit inside the chamber of the test model were synchronized by DPG, thereby the initial formation process of the interaction could be captured from multi angle by repeatedly carrying out the experiments.
